Dental training Externship
​
Practical Dental Assistant Training Academy offers an internal 40-hour Externship Program to *eligible students that provides real-world experiences they need to become confident and skilled dental assistants. The externship portion of our course allows our students the opportunity to work under the direct guidance of experienced dental professionals in a local dental office.
*Eligible/Qualified are those who graduate in the top 10% of their class. All students that are not eligible/qualified for a Lakemoor Dental Externship will receive assistance in an external externship placement.

Grading System
​
The final grade average will be based on the completion of all listed requirements and will be determined by the following grading scale:
A – 90-100
B – 89-80
C – 79-70
F- 69 and below
Grading Policies
Student performance will be evaluated in the following manner:
Assignments 20%
Tests 20%
Quizzes 5%
Hands-on Training 35%
Final Exam 20%

Graduation Requirements
​
Complete the 10-week program with a grade point average of 70% or higher (this includes completion of a 40 hour externship)
